On the nudist beach the atmosphere of freedom
and conviviality between both nudists and ‘textiles’ is
a key factor for enjoying the beach. You’ll see people
of all types and even whole families enjoying the sun and
air. The beach has a beach bar and sometimes serves as
a hippy camping area. The natural setting is incomparable,
from the first high cliffs and and greenish water above
a sandy seabed, becoming a little rocky as you head in
the direction of Barbate, at Los Chorros beach.
As you pass the bays and coves the number of people diminishes
notably and on some beaches gay bathers are in the majority.
There are tiny coves where you have to take care against
rockfalls and dizzyness, and you should also take care
not to be trapped by a treacherous high tide. The tranquility
of these beaches is almost absolute, broken only by passersby
who are hunting for the sweet fresh-water waterfall here.
The Faro de Trafalgar beaches
Another possibility here is the zone around the Trafalgar
lighthouse. Here there are tiny bays, perhaps a little
busier, and over all, Roche, the great beach that extends
for many kilometres towards Conil… It’s a very
tranquil beach. There are small areas of nudist bathing
beneath the low cliffs by the lighthouse, and it’s
common to pass nudist groups or couples along all of the
beach. It’s a wild and peaceful place, even in high
summer. Note, though, that its big waves also conceal dangerous
currents.
The best of all however is the unique atmosphere that
Los Caños exudes when one is bathing nude. Everyone
is the same here, and respects the non-nudist areas, there
are never any problems and it’s easy to pass a very
agreeable day leaving your preconceptions to one side and
becoming a part of nature, as God made the world.
Other nudist beaches nearby:
Bolonia beach
A beautiful beach of fine golden sands between Barbate
and Tarifa. It’s characterised by the striking dune
system, below which are the main nudist bathing areas.
This natural wonder is in a privileged position wherever
you look. The African coast, which is perfectly visible
on the horizon, the dramatic dune system, the Roman ruins
at Baelo Claudia, the perfect conditions for windsurfing....
all make this an enchanting place to spend a day on the
beach.
The bays of Poniente, Cala Sudario-Pitones, Calas
de Melchor and Aceite, Cala Camacho. These are beautiful virgin bays
favoured by assiduous nudists. They are situated in the
Conil municipality, but are well away from the summer crowds
and nudists can bathe here in peace and quiet. The beaches
are of golden sand, and there are camp sites nearby.
