It is situated to the north east of the province with nearly all the municipal boundary within the Natural Park of the Sierra de Grazalema. The town, an old Nazari fortress which forms part of the border can be found on a hill, at the foot of the castle remains, forming a group of streets and white houses, spread out over a slope which is extraordinarily beautiful. It could be considered as one of the most beautiful villages of the province.
