The climate is the reason that the coastline of Granada is known as: the Costa Tropical (Tropical Coast).
There are 300 days of sun per year and the temperature range invites the visitor to stay here for ever, the average minimum temperature in the month of January is 16ēC (and it rarely drops below 10ēC). These temperatures do not contrast much with the 24ēC in July, as spring-like temperatures of up to 20ēC can be felt in winter, making this destination a fantastic place to enjoy the sun.
These moderate temperatures are due to the chain of mountains that surrounds La Herradura, combined with the natural thermostat of the Mediterranean that takes the edge of the heat with a fresh sea breeze.
Its rainfall registers around 300 mm on average for the whole year.
