Cartaya holds the tenth Spanish Mountain Bike Championship for local police
The tenth Spanish Mountain Bike Championship for Local Police will take place on the 29th of September in Cartaya, Huelva. The Cultural and Sporting Association of the Local Police, Huelva and the Council of Cartaya are organising this event, which is expected to attract 160 people.
Participants in the Mountain Bike championship will be staying at the Hotel Fuerte Rompido Suites, Huelva and will be able to enjoy the twelve thousand hectares of pine trees that make it the ideal place for the sport.The previous event took place in Colmenar de Oreja (Madrid) and the 2007 organising committee has chosen Cartaya to celebrate the tenth. It involves a challenge restricted to members of the local police squads from all over Spain, and a single test with a course decided on by the organising committee.
The test is expected to begin on the 29th of September at 10am with the elite category. The other categories will each be staggered by five minutes.
Finally, the award ceremony will take place on the same night, along with the handing over of the Championship Flag to the squad who wish to take over as hosts for the following year.
