The many prizes and good weather make the Fuerte Hoteles Golf Open stand out

The Hotel Fuerte El Rompido, in Cartaya, Huelva, held the third Fuerte Hoteles Golf Open from the 1st until the 4th of November, and provided accommodation, under a summer sun, for the 140 players who took part in the tournament last weekend.
Juan Antonio Ruiz Batanas carried away the Scratch Award, a 3,000 euros cheque to enjoy at Fuerte Hoteles, plus a trophy. The third year of the tournament also saw more than 6,000 euros shared out amongst the first and second category, more than 3,000 euros in the special prizes and a prize draw with gifts valued at more than 2,000 euros after the award ceremony.
The Stableford Individual tournament was sponsored by Crown Car Hire and Fuerte Hoteles and enjoyed the collaboration of the El Rompido Golf Club, Campofrío, Bodegas Chivite, Coca Cola, Enlaze 3, Osborne, Johnson Diversey, Cafés Camelo, Movistar, Cruzcampo, Embutidos Jabugo-Cuyar and Freixenet.
El Rompido Golf, created by the designer Álvaro Arana, is the only golf course in the region with 36 holes (north and south courses). Its two 18-hole courses are situated on the Río Piedras Marshlands Beauty Spot and are surrounded by pine groves and orange orchards.
Fuerte Hoteles offers packages for non-players based around relaxing hydrotherapy, health and beauty sessions at the Miramar SPA&Beauty Centre within Hotel Fuerte el Rompido.

50th Birthday
In 2007, Grupo El Fuerte is celebrating its 50th Birthday, and to mark the occasion it’s holding weekly cocktail parties in the Group’s hotels. There have also been two organ concerts, on the 15th of June and the 28th of September in the Iglesia de la Encarnación Church, Marbella, as well as the creation and promotion of the Friends of the Sol Mayor Organ Association by the cultural area of the Fuerte Foundation. There was a party on the 4th of July at the Hotel El Fuerte and a painting exhibition ‘Por amor al arte’ (For the Love of Art), in October. The Group has also published a book recounting its history and that of Marbella.
In December, the Group will announce the new exhibitions and cultural events organised by Fuerte Cultural, aiming to support local artists and projects related to the history and Marbella and its surroundings.
