Tourism Conferences in Vejer
Fuerte Hoteles takes part in the second Tourism Conferences in Vejer de la Frontera
Joaquín Pineda, Director of Sustainable Quality and Development within the group, spoke about sustainability in the tourist industry

Organised by the Cadiz Provincial Administration Entrepreneur Support (CADE) and the Vejer de la Frontera Town Council (Cadiz), the second Tourist Seminars: ‘Vejer and tourism in the coming years’ enjoyed the participation of Fuerte Hoteles on the 26th February.
As part of their commitment to meeting socio-economic needs in their operational areas, Joaquín Pineda, Director of Quality and Sustainable Development within the group, focused on ‘innovation, sustainability and internationalisation in the tourist business.”
The conference raised the establishment of criteria favouring the application of competitive future strategies, along with the need to specify a sustainable tourist model to maximise the natural and cultural resources on which the tourist industry is based, and maintenance of the elements linked to concepts of well-being and safety.
To finish, participants stated a series of aims and challenges that would have to be met by the sector in order to reach full momentum in the 21st century. Key factors mentioned were collaboration between the Andalusian Administrations and Councils, and a continuing process of modernisation, innovation and staff training by companies.
