Isabel María García Bardón received an award from the Malaga Association of Professional and Business Women
The president of Grupo El Fuerte received the second Victoria Award on 28th March

On 28th March, Isabel María García Bardón received the second Victoria Award, a distinction given by the Malaga Association of Professional and Business Women (Amupema) to the woman who stands out for her social, economic or intellectual work at an international level.
The president of Grupo El Fuerte has shown her gratitude for the award and states that she was surprised as she has “so much still to do”, adding that her dedication and work is “a way to understand life and to improve both as a person and as a responsible business woman”.
Doña Isabel García Bardón gets the award
Widow of José Luque Manzano, who founded the Hotel El Fuerte in 1957 – the Group’s first hotel in Marbella- Isabel María García Bardón (Estepa, 1939) decided to continue, alongside her five children, with the projects left by her husband on his death in 1984.
Focused up until that point on bringing up her family, she took on a fundamental role in the business and with the approval of her children, expanded and renovated the hotel between 1987 and 1992. Later on, there were more hotels opened with Fuerte Conil (Cadiz, 1999), Fuerte Miramar (Marbella, 2001), Fuerte Grazalema (Grazalema, 2002), Fuerte Costa Luz (Conil de la Frontera, 2004), Hotel Sunscape Puerto Aventuras (2004, Mexico’s Mayan Riviera) and Hotel Fuerte El Rompido (Huelva, 2005).
Isabel García has also presided over the Horizonte Association for the past twenty years, is a Board Member of the Andalusian Family Company Association, and dedicates much of her time to the Fuerte Foundation, an initiative created in 2004 to meet Fuerte Hoteles’ wish to play a part in solving problems within its social environment.
