New solar panels in Fuerte Grazalema
The El Fuerte Group has increased the number of solar panels at the Hotel Fuerte Grazalema to reduce emissions of contaminants

The El Fuerte Group has increased the number of solar panels at the Hotel Fuerte Grazalema (Cadiz) with the installation of new ACS panels which will allow a better use of solar energy and will thus contribute to a reduction in the emission of contaminants into the atmosphere. An annual saving of 22,753 litres of gas-oil is forecast as a result of this project.
Thanks to these solar panels, the Hotel Fuerte Grazalema has also obtained a temperature of 60ºC in the accumulation tanks. The amount invested was almost 80,000 euros, 37.5 per cent of which came as a subsidy from the Andalusian Energy Agency (AAE).
Energy audits
Endesa Energía has been contracted to carry out energy audits in all the hotels in the chain. This initiative is added to others that the El Fuerte Group carries out with the aim of conserving the environment. The objective of these audits is to minimize energy costs in the group’s hotels, with the aim of reducing the cost of energy per stay and contributing to the reduction in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. This is beneficial to the environment and to sustainable development.
Unnecessary energy consumption will be analysed in detail for the different areas of each hotel; rooms, machine rooms, common areas, dining areas and swimming pools. The differences in the water consumption of these areas will be analysed. A thermographic study will also be carried out with the aim of detecting hot spots, overloads in the electrical systems and conductors, as well as anomalies in electrical and cable contacts.
The necessary improvements will be made to reduce energy consumption, taking the results of this exhaustive analysis into account. This will be complemented by a detailed feasibility study including different technical proposals related to savings and investments.
El Fuerte Group
