Tennis tournament for physical disabilities
Record Number of Participants in the Second City of Marbella Wheelchair Tennis Open
More than 30 sportsmen and women from all over Spain will take part in the tournament. Points from the competition are valid for national ranking

From the 3rd to the 6th April, the San Pedro de Alcántara Sports Palace will be hosting the second City of Marbella Wheelchair Tennis Open. The championship will be launched in the Hotel Fuerte Miramar-Spa Marbella on 30th March at 12.00. The Director General of Sporting Activities and Promotions from the Autonomous Government of Andalusia, Juan de la Cruz, and the Marbella Town Councillor for Sports, Ángel Mora, will be at the inaugural event.
With more than 30 participants signed up, the tournament has become highly significant at a national level. The first event saw 28 participants and it is currently the wheelchair tennis tournament with the greatest number of participants, the majority of whom, ten in total, are from Andalusia.
This tournament will have the participation of the Galician Martín Varela, who won the tournament in 2007 and currently occupies second place in the national ranking for wheelchair tennis.
On 6th April the final will take place at 10am. Trophies will be awarded after the match, which like the others is free to enter. The winner will receive 450 Euros and the tournament is also valid for national ranking.
