Fuerte Hoteles Golf Open
Participation in the fourth Fuerte Hoteles Golf Open is a resounding success

Between the 1st and 4th, the Hotel Fuerte Rompido Suites in Cartaya, Huelva, held the fourth Fuerte Hoteles Golf Open, while 158 players taking part in the tournament stayed at the hotel last weekend.
Each year has seen the event become increasingly successful, with an increase both in participant numbers (11% compared to the previous year) and the diversity in their places of origin (Madrid, Toledo, Salamanca, Bilbao, Algeciras, Marbella, Malaga, Barcelona, etc.).
For the second year running, Juan Antonio Ruiz Batanas won the Scratch prize, as well as claiming victory in the tournament's First Category. The winner of the Second Category was Silvia Infante García, while Elisabeth Szocs took first place in the Third Category. More than 12,000 Euros in prize money was shared out amongst the three categories, with 3,000 Euros for the Scratch prize and a prize draw after the award ceremony.
Played as a Stableford Individual, the tournament enjoyed the collaboration of the Club de Golf El Rompido, Campofrío, Embutidos Jabugo-Cuyar, Bodegas Chivite, Grupo Mahou-San Miguel, Coca Cola, Nespresso and Aguas de Lanjarón: the companies set up their own stands at the event.
El Rompido Golf, creation of the designer álvaro Arana, is the Region's only 36-hole golf course (North course and South course). Its two 18-hole courses are located in the spectacular Marismas del Río Piedras beauty spot, surrounded by pine and orange groves.
