TUI Environmental Champion 2008
Fuerte Hoteles awarded a prize by TUI
Marbella (Málaga), 30th October 2008
For the eighth year running, the chain has been awarded a prize for being one of the best ecologically managed hotels in the world.
Reproduced below is a copy of the letter sent to us by Volker Böttcher, TUI’s Managing Director, and Andreas Koch, the Director for Quality and Environmental Management, to certify this prestigious award:
“The most recent version of the exciting and sought-after TUI Environmental Champion 2008 prize was decided in August. Among the competitors were TUI’s best holiday complexes in 22 countries that have put a vision of ecological hotel management into operation in a practical way. Never has the TUI environmental champion prize been as hotly contested as this one and this version of the prize has found that a large number of holiday complexes have an extremely high level.
Therefore, it is our great pleasure to award you with the TUI Environmental Champion 2008 prize. With a total score of 891 out of 1000 possible points, your hotel (referring to the Hotel Fuerte Conil) has been awarded eighth place out of the Top 100. Thanks to this award, you hotel will stand out from all the rest. It will also attract the attention of TUI’s expanding destination group, who are very interested in sustainability and environmental protection.
Along with the certificate, we will be sending you some feedback about your results within the next few weeks. The top 10 hotels in the ranking will also receive a valuable enamelled plaque that will certainly attract the attention of your guests when they enter your hotel.
As an additional bonus, we shall also give you a copy of "TUI Green Worlds", TUI’s first interactive “green” brochure. As a TUI Environmental Champion, you will be given the opportunity by this brochure to showcase your environmental commitment.
