Sponsors of XII Malaga Festival of Spanish Film

As part of their commitment to promoting and supporting the arts, Fuerte Hoteles is sponsoring the twelfth Malaga Festival of Spanish Film. This event was opened today and will continue until the 25th of April. The new Culture Minister, ángeles González-Sinde will be attending the first and second days.
During this year's festival, Antonio Banderas will award the Malaga Prize to the actor Juan Diego. The makeup artist Gregorio Ros will receive the Ricardo Franco Prize. Ros has previously won two Goya Prizes and the latest film by Francis Ford Coppola, "Tetro", is one of many that he has worked on. The "Eloy de la Iglesia" Prize will be awarded to the young director Nacho Vigalondo, while the producer Enrique Cerezo will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

14 films in the official selection
Six feature length films, such as "25 kilates" (25 carat) will be presented in the ZonaCine, along with 32 shorts. The films "Los últimos testigos: Fraga y Carrillo" (Fraga and Carrillo, the last witnesses) and "Una sombra en el paraíso" (A shadow in paradise) will be presented in the Documentary category, which will kick off on Friday the 17th of April. 14 films have been entered in the Latin American Territory category, such as "Un novio para mi mujer" (A boyfriend for my wife), "Motivos para no enamorarse" (Reasons for not falling in love) and "Máncora".
Additionally, there will be a special screening of the documentary film "La España de la Copla" (The Spain of Couplets), which will be premiered during the Malaga Festival.
