Marbella presents a Jorge Firpo Tango Course

Next Thursday the 4th of June at 12.30 pm, the Andalusian chain Fuerte Hoteles will present a tango course at the Marbella Fuerte Sport Club, to be given by the maestro who founded the Argentinean School of Tango, Jorge Firpo. The hotel chain will be holding a press conference to provide information about the different activities and classes that the course will offer, as well as to present the famous teacher whose expertise will be enjoyed by the participants.
The course will be jointly organised by the "Marbella El Tortazo Milonga Dance Group" and the Fuerte Sport Club. It will be held in one of the Fuerte hotel's gym halls between Friday the 5th and Sunday the 7th of June and will include activities that are suitable for intermediate or advanced students, as well as for anyone who is just getting into this type of dance. In addition, other optional activities will complement the course's programme, including visits to various milonga dance halls: El Jardín, La Confitería and Doble A in Malaga. The course will be rounded off with an open air Milonga dance in the pergola located on the seafront promenade next to our hotel.
Tango Course
On the Sunday, the final day of the course, an elegant tango dance show will be held at the hotel's lookout point from 4.30 pm onwards for the general public on the seafront promenade. Later, after a lunch to mark the end of the course and to bid farewell to maestro Jorge Firpo, a ceremony will be held to present certificates to all the students that participate.
By hosting this activity, the hotel chain wishes to show that this type of dance, the tango, is a form of cultural expression which, despite the fact that it comes from another country, it is also alive and enjoyed by many people in countries like Spain. Jorge Firpo, a dancer, choreographer and artistic director of great international fame will be charged with teaching different techniques for perfecting and enjoying the tango. His aim is to transmit the essence of this type of dance from its popular roots and to contribute in this way to winning more followers outside the country where it was born.
