A plaque to commemorate teh 50th anniversary

The Andalusian Maîtres d’hotel Association give a commemorative plaque to the Luque Family for the 50th anniversary.

The Andalusian Maître d’hotel Association will offer a commemorative plaque tomorrow to Grupo El Fuerte for its 50 years of history. The prize shall be given at Hotel El Fuerte and it shall be received by Isabel García Bardón, president of Grupo El Fuerte, on behalf of all her family. The idea for this prize arose from the association’s board of directors and it has been unanimously supported by all its members.

“The Luque family has always shown much kindness to us letting us use the meeting rooms and this is why we did not want to miss the chance to show them how grateful we are to them for these 50 years”, stated Antonio Rodríguez, president of the Andalusian Maître d’hotel Association.

The association has greatly considered “the business and professional experience of Grupo El Fuerte, its strong bet for promoting tourism on the Costa del Sol and its professional growth within Spain at present”, pointed out the president of the association.

The Andalusian Maître d’hotel Association, AMA 91, was created in 1991 at one of the Hotel El Fuerte meeting rooms in Marbella. Since then they have collaborated with Grupo El Fuerte carrying out activities such as the Wine Cultural Week, held every year at the hotel. “We bring wineries, have wine tasting sessions and offer some wine samples, with the kind help and assistance offered by Fuerte Hoteles letting us use as many meeting rooms as needed by us, stated Antonio Rodríguez.

Apart from this homage the association holds the Silver Fork Awards every year, given to those people directly or indirectly related to the local hotel trade business. Among the prize-winning persons it is worth mentioning the actor Antonio Banderas and even the president of Grupo El Fuerte, Isabel García Bardón. These and other activities are gathered in our AMA 91 magazine, published by the association on a quarterly basis.

Grupo El Fuerte

At present Grupo el Fuerte has six hotels in Spain located in Marbella, Conil, el Rompido and Grazalema; a hotel on the Mayan Riviera, and the Hotel Secrets Montego Bay is under construction in Jamaica. Within the real estate market Grupo El Fuerte has a residential complex known as Calaceite in Torrox and is seeking to open the All Suites Hotel Fuerte La Herradura in 2009 in Almuñecar. EID interior design also belongs to Grupo el Fuerte, and was created with the aim of covering the demand of the group. Finally, the Fundación Fuerte created with the aim of cooperating in solving the problems of its social surroundings.

Grupo el Fuerte mainly stands out for quality tourism, preservation of the environment and the continuous training of human resources, apart from the familiar treatment, privileged location of the hotels, gastronomy and the respect for history.

Besides the hotel chain holds weekly cocktail parties at all the group hotels to celebrate its 50th anniversary. A sol major Organ Concert shall be held on 15th June 2007 at the Encarnación church in Marbella, and a commemorative party shall be held at Hotel El Fuerte Marbella on 4th July. For mid October Hotel El fuerte Marbella will also be holding a painting exhibition. Grupo El Fuerte has published a 50th anniversary commemorative book which was presented on May 24th.
