The El Rompido Huelva Golf Club, in Cartaya, has this weekend held the Andalusia Tournament of the Gheisa Golf Cup Circuit 2007. José Luis Román García and Mª Pilar Corner Antoli, winners of the first category, have led the list of winners in this summer session for the Spa route, together with Luis Urbano Santiago and Marlen Largo Labrador, winners of the second category. The prizes were handed out at Hotel Fuerte el Rompido.
With regard to special categories, the title of Senior Absoluto has fallen to Emilio Bohigas, and the winner of the Scratch category was José Moreno. Alejandro del Rey took the Men’s Longest Drive at the fifth hole, whilst Mª Ángeles Llorente won the Women’s Category. Alejandro Muñoz took the prize for the Nearest Ball, at the 8th hole.
Golf for the little ones
Children have also played an important part in this Saturday Round on the Rompido South Course, where Álvaro Comino was the winner in the Children’s category of the Pandanni Tournament.
Alejandro del Rey González took the 9th hole Benjamín Prize, while Esther del Rey and Thomas Artigas took the Alevin Beginners prizes at the 1st and 3rd holes respectively.
The holes at El Rompido Golf Club have allowed players in the Gheisa Golf Cup to be extremely creative with their golf clubs on what turned out to be a bright and sunny day. Located in a 15,000 hectare wooded paradise by the sea, and easy to walk around, the course is surrounded by the spectacular natural beauty of the Marismas (marshes) at El Rompido, and participants will have enjoyed the magnificent ocean views of the Atlantic from the 18 holes that make up the course.
The V Edition of the Gheisa Golf Cup has been sponsored by Palmeraie Golf, Almenara Golf&Resort, Go&Golf, Golf 56, Ditur, Pandanni Golf and National Atesa. Meanwhile, the Children’s Preliminaries have had the collaboration of Chulilla Spa and the Escuela de Golf del Mediterráneo (Mediterranean School of Golf).
