Grazalema is found in the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema National Park. The seven different routes on offer in this package will ensure that you can enjoy the most spectacular scenery around and be inspired by the region's natural and cultural beauty: its unique avifauna (with eagles, owls and vulture colonies), its prehistoric archaeological and Roman remains, as well as its stunning geological formations, untouched limestone mountain range and a variety of wildlife living amongst the peaks. The distance and / or gradient of the routes on offer are recommended for hikers of all ages and fitness levels.

The mild spring, autumn and winter temperatures make the Sierra de Grazalema an ideal place for hiking. The location and facilities of the Hotel Fuerte Grazalema, one of the most renowned country house hotels in Andalusia, make it the perfect place for hiking in the region. Each one of our routes has a unique story to tell, and we offer you information accompanied by photos, route distances, average completion times and difficulty level.

Throughout every one of our tours you'll get the chance to see valleys, gorges, vast forests, wildlife, greenery, lofty peaks, deep caves, rivers and huge rock mountains. And through long lost and forgotten places and ancient walkways, you'll be sure to discover the immaculate white villages clinging on to Grazalema; Ubrique, Zahara de la Sierra, Montejaque, Beonaocaz, Benaojan or Villaluenga mountains in the Cadiz and Malaga mountain ranges. These villages are not just fine examples of communities perched on limestone mountains but they are beacons sharing their unique history, charm, crafts, customs and local produce.

Visit the "Salto del Cabrero" a vertical wall fault line of over 80 metres high separated by a 50-metre gorge, where griffon vultures usually nest. The route finishes in Benaocaz. Return to the hotel by the bus company Los Amarillos (around 2 Euros per ticket) departing from the town's bus station at 15:30. If you finish this route with ample time to spare, we would recommend paying a visit to the ethnological museum or getting a bite to eat at the iconic and local El Refugio restaurant serving some of the area's gastronomic specialties.

  • Distancia: 14 Km

The trail starts at an altitude of 1,000 meters and runs along the northern slope of the Sierra del Pinar, towards Puerto de la Cumbres (1280 meters above sea level). During the ascent you will be able appreciate the towns of Grazalema and Ronda from above, topped off by the Sierra de las Nieves. As we progress you will encounter an abundance of blackthorn berries and maple trees hidden away in the Fir tree forest, we will then continue onwards to the 900 metre high port city of Pinar and the Pinsapar lookout. From here, we will then return to our starting point. Yo have to ask permission.
