Our history

Our tradition of offering quality services to our guests is based on a long history beginning with Hotel El Fuerte (now known as Fuerte Marbella), a pioneering hotel that serves as the Group's headquarters, opened in Marbella on 4 July 1957.

Quality and recognition

Quality is one of the main objectives of Grupo El Fuerte. In order to achieve excellence, we pay special attention to all processes involved in any of our services. Internal audits certify that we continue to fulfil quality standards; this has been recognised over the years with various awards and distinctions.

Collaboration with Fuerte Foundation

Fuerte Foundation is the result of the values that for over 50 years (since 1957) have served as a reference point to the soul of this innovative and entrepreneurial family; this is summed up in our slogan "Caring for people and the environment". The creation of the Fuerte Foundation, which takes its name from our first hotel, El Fuerte (now known as Fuerte Marbella), has been catalysed by our President and members of the Group El Fuerte Board of Director. Its mission is to promote activities that foment social and cultural development, amongst both guests and those working with us.
