The culture of Grazalema

Grazalema is much more than simply a natural oasis; it is a melting pot of cultures and traditions waiting to be discovered. A classic cultural tour in Grazalema will take you to La Cilbula, the charming ruins of a Roman villa harking back to the 2nd Century, and to the Museum of Textile Crafts, where the old traditions of one of the city’s oldest industries are still preserved.

However, one of the greatest pleasures of this White Village is simply to wander among the narrow cobbled lanes that still conserve their Muslim design, giving way to intimate, bright squares. The most notable of these is Spain Plaza, the hub of the city, where the emblem of ancient splendour yet stands in the form of the Church of Our Lady of the Dawn. A fresh touch is provided by the City Hall Building whose arcades, which are perfectly crowned with traditional Andalusian balconies, exert a singular charm.
