Conil. Hiking

Senderismo, hiking, in its strictest sense, is known as the activity consisting of walking signposted routes, including those not normally found in the countryside, but which combine healthy countryside exercise with interesting cultural pursuits. In its widest sense, it is also considered as simple hiking, often off-path and cross-country.

It’s certainly the case that everyone has their own idea of what ‘senderismo’ entails, but that ultimately it includes those who call it hiking and those who call it mountaineering. The defining line between the two is unclear, but the walkers in the Natural Parks listed in these pages will be definition be able hikers.
