MARBELLA. Events. Holy week

Semana Santa de MarbellaHoly Week in Marbella is a celebration that nobody, either inhabitants or visitors, can or should miss. A ritual celebrated in antiquity, the processions of the holy statues and the participants in the religious marches are watched and followed by thousands of spectators who attend the various stages of the celebrants carrying or accompanying the images from their individual churches.

Nine "cofradías", that is, parish fraternities, including cofradias from nearby Nueva Andalucía and San Pedro de Alcántara, collaborate under the group title of the Agrupación de Cofradías de Semana Santa and organise the neighbourhood processions.
