The festive and good-natured character of the archetypal Andalucían pueblo (which can mean village, town but also its people) is best seen during the many local fiestas, saints' days and provincial celebrations that occur throughout the year, and of course most notably the religious festivals, both for their popularity and the great community spirit they bring out: Easter and Christmas being red-marked among the numbers of the Spanish almanac.
