MARBELLA. Getting around. By train
The rail network covering Andalucía unfortunately does not reach
as far as Marbella – yet – but it does terminate nearby. In
the neighbouring town of Fuengirola there is a regular train connection
via the airport to the capital, Málaga, one of the major portals
for entry into Andalucía itself. (There are also plans to extend
this line along the coast via Marbella to La Linea, near Gibraltar.)
The national rail company RENFE has
a web site with information, in Spanish and English, as
well as Catalan, Gallego and Euskedi, containing
all the information you will need to check timetables,
connections, train types
and even buy tickets by telephone or online. For general
information, ticket sales and reservations, the telephone
number is: 902240202.
