Must-see visits are the <strong>Museum of Water<\/strong> (located in the old mill at the source of the river Majaceite), the fish farm or <strong>El Castillejo Botanical Gardens.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If there is one important date on the Benamahoma calendar it has to be the first weekend in August, when the unusual <strong>Moors and Christians Festival <\/strong>is held. The village returns to the period of Arabic domination and the Christian reconquista.<\/p>\n<h3>Ubrique (23 min by car)<\/h3>\n<p>Ubrique forms part of the route of the white villages, at the entrance of Grazalema Natural Park and Los Alcornocales Natural Park. You can\u2019t leave without visiting the Museum of Leather, a look at the history of leather goods in Ubrique since its beginnings.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t forget to visit the <strong>Roman<\/strong><strong> archaeological site Ocuris<\/strong>, 2 km from Ubrique in a place known as the salto de la Mora (leap of the Moor), from where you can see the natural pass to Benaocaz and the manga de Villaluenga (valley pass).<\/p>\n<h3>El Bosque (25 min by car)<\/h3>\n<p>Located on the banks of the river Majaceite and at the foot of Albarrac\u00edn hill, this pretty white village offers sulfurous springs and thick forests. Highlights are its cold meats and cheeses as well as the art of leather making and the manufacture of artisan furniture.<\/p>\n<h3>Montejaque y Benaoj\u00e1n (40 min by car)<\/h3>\n<p>The cave painting site <strong>Cueva de la Pileta<\/strong> is a prehistoric cave declared a National Monument in 1924. It is one of the most notable examples of cave painting on the Iberian Peninsula which attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world every year.<\/p>\n<h3>Setenil de las Bodegas (40 min by car)<\/h3>\n<p>The main attraction of this small village are its peculiar dwellings <strong>built under the protection of the rocks<\/strong>, in which unlike with other semi-troglodyte constructions, the rock is not excavated, instead the rocky wall is simply closed in and the dwelling is built lengthways.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Local One Day Tours of Sierra de Grazalema<\/h2>\n<p>From our hotel in the Sierra de Grazalema National Park you\u2019re ideally placed to explore southern Spain\u2019s unique towns and cities.<\/p>\n<h3>Ronda: 20 minutes<\/h3>\n<p>Ronda is one of the prettiest towns in Andalucia, perched above the El Tajo canyon. Popular things to do and see in Ronda include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Puerto Nuevo, the imposing bridge spanning the gorge<\/li>\n<li>Taking a horse-drawn carriage ride through its old streets<\/li>\n<li>The Old Quarter, full of narrow, twisting streets and its Moorish palace<\/li>\n<li>Acinipo, a Roman town 20km outside Ronda<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Ascari Racetrack: 30 minutes<\/h3>\n<p>The Ascari track just outside Ronda is must-visit for Formula One fans.
